Now that the NFL regular season is over, Bing Predicts has turned its attention to Super Bowl 50. At the end of regular season play, Bing Predicts record for predicting NFL games is 161-95, (62.9% correct). With Super Bowl 50 less than a week away, Bing Predicts surmises that Cam Newton will lead the Carolina Panthers (17-1) to their first-ever Super Bowl win. If Bing Predicts is correct, that would make Carolina the first Super Bowl champions with an 18-1 record in more than 30 years.
Bing Predicts made its calculations based on both teams’ ranked offenses and defenses for the NFL regular season. During the regular season, Carolina had the NFL’s #1 scoring offense and #6 scoring defense; Denver had the #20 scoring offense and #4 scoring defense. Carolina’s #2 rush offense dominated Denver’s #17 rush offense. As far as rush defense goes, Carolina was #4, while Denver was one spot ahead at #3. Both teams have strong defenses, but Bing Predicts believes that Carolina will outlast Denver with its #1 offense in the NFL.
