Last week we reported to you on VAIO launching it’s first Windows 10 Mobile handset in Japan.  Unfortunately, that device will not be coming to America, which is a disappointment. However, we can now report that another interesting Japanese Windows Phone could soon hit world markets.

According to an email from Nuans NEO manufacturer Trinity, as reported on Windows Central, the Windows 10 Mobile smartphone with unique two-tone interchangeable covers is in the works for markets outside of Japan. No timing is indicated, and there’s nothing yet set in stone, but that’s better than confirmation to the contrary.

According to the email:

We are now working on making the global version of NEO, and time frame hasn’t been set yet, but please be patient and support us.

As we previously reported, the Nuans NEO currently sells for 42,700 Yen in Japan, which is about US$378. The Neo features a 1280 x 720 display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, and 16GB of storage, while its primary claim to fame are the interchangeable shells that provide robust customizability in creating a more personal Windows smartphone that reflects each owner’s unique style.

With Mobile World Congress around the corner, you can expect to hear more about this device soon. We’ll be sure to let you know if you’ll be able to purchase one yourself at some point in the future.
